Lexminster is pleased to present its legal guide to the Tashkent International Financial Centre (TIFC), set to launch in early 2027.
Established under Presidential Decree UP-48 and the Constitutional Law on the TIFC adopted in 2026, the Centre is expected to become an important platform for attracting international investment and strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as a regional financial hub. Operating under English and Welsh common law, with its own independent commercial court, arbitration centre, and financial regulator, the TIFC introduces a distinctive legal framework that places Uzbekistan alongside Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Astana as a jurisdiction for international finance.
Our guide provides an overview of the TIFC’s legal and regulatory framework, examines selected aspects of the Centre’s operating environment, and highlights key considerations for international investors, financial institutions, businesses, and their advisers evaluating opportunities within the Centre.
As a business law firm based in Tashkent, Lexminster advises international and domestic clients on corporate and M&A transactions, banking and finance, capital markets, regulatory matters, and other aspects of doing business in Uzbekistan.
We will continue to follow developments relating to the TIFC and their implications for the investment community.
